If you are like me, you want to do everything by yourself. However, when you are building a business, outsourcing tasks is the best thing to do to expand. The best way to outsource tasks is to delegate them by your team members’ abilities and capabilities. You can do this in four simple ways.
Motivate Your Team
Motivating your team starts in your progress meetings. If you have them on a weekly, biweekly, or monthly basis, you want to ensure that you are giving them a dose of encouragement. As the CEO, they are relying on your vision and supporting you, so it is important that you motivate them to achieve goals, not only for the business but for themselves.
Establish Timelines and Completion of Tasks
The more you know, the more you grow. This is a little motto that we have in our leadership meetings, and I encourage you to think about that as you are delegating tasks. When delegating tasks, be sure to establish what is required of the tasks, when it needs to be completed, and any additional resources that are needed for the team member. By giving the team members the tools that they need to complete their tasks, will reduce stress on both party’s behalf, allow for efficiency in task completion, and answer initial questions that they may have. It also keeps you on track with the completion of small and large projects according to your client’s needs.
Use A Project Management Systems To Keep It All In One Place
I will preach this over and over again, but systems are your friends!!! More importantly, the best system to use when delegating tasks for your team is project management software. Some popular software is Asana, Trello, Teamwork, and Click Up. Each of these project management systems allows you to place all of your instructions and resources for each task in one place, and you can keep track of the progress with comments, folders, and more. Each system works for a different type of project or client, so do your research and find out what will work best for the delegation of your team.
Delegating tasks to your team is the key to not only your success, the team’s success, and the business as a whole. As you are delegating tasks, remember to delegate them according to your team’s talent, skill and capacity. This way, you are able to achieve goals with ease.
